Last week Te Rūnanganui made a submission to the Pae Ora Legislations Select Committee. The Pae Ora Draft legislation is the Crowns response to the findings of the Waitangi Tribunal Hauora report earlier this year. Te Rūnanganui took the opportunity to encourage the select committee to be more ambitious in their vision for the Wellbeing of Māori, and allow Māori to take more responsibility for the management of their health and wellbeing outcomes.
We have asked to present our submission in person, and if given the opportunity, we will reinforce our views regarding Tino Rangatiratanga and Mana Motuhake as articulated in the submission.
A copy of the submission is available below for members to read.
