The Waipā District Council’s has advised Te Rūnanganui o Ngāti Hikairo that it has opened applications for the Tuia Leadership Programme to Rangatahi in our rohe. The programme is aimed at developing the leadership capacity of young Māori in communities throughout New Zealand.
The programme involves local Mayors selecting a rangatahi from their district to mentor on a one-to-one basis, to encourage and enhance leadership skills.
The Waipa District Council Mayor is keen to facilitate and encourage a stronger ‘youth voice’ to be heard at Council.
